The Charlton Society will hold its 2018 Annual General Meeting on Saturday 20th October 2018 in Charlton House. The outgoing committee will present its activities to the membership, and visitors, including its proposed application to the Greenwich Neighbourhood Growth Fund.     The Charlton Society President Lord Gough will preside over elections for the 2018 / 2019 committee and the main officers to be elected are Chair, Vice – Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Membership Secretary and Talks organiser.                                                                                                                                                                                             The Society is in urgent need of a website manager and members to provide the voice of the membership and help organise the forthcoming celebratory exhibition of 50 years of                       the Charlton Society.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Our Guest speaker is Julian Kingston of The Lenox Project,  a charity founded in 2011 whose mission is to build and launch a full-size replica of the Lenox, a state-of-the-art naval ship that was built in 1678 in Deptford and the first of Charles II’s thirty ships; to be housed at Convoys Wharf in Deptford and then repairing and then build other culturally or historically significant vessels.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    So come along and find out all the news, buy your raffle, some new cards and finish the afternoon off with Tea and cake.
