OPEN GARDENS WEEKEND
A call-out to all gardeners! Tim Barnes (who gave a talk to The Charlton Society last year about Woolwich Garrison Church) has been asked by the Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice to organise the Open Gardens Weekends again this coming summer in aid of the Hospice.
This year the two weekends which are going to feature are June 6th/7th and June 13th/14th and they have yet to decide which weekends will accommodate the Greenwich and Blackheath gardens and which the gardens in Eltham, Bexley & Charlton.
Experience has shown that people are every bit as keen on seeing the smaller gardens with which they can identify than with the larger garden so there is no need for owners to have large gardens to participate.
Ideally there would be clusters of gardens within a walking distance of each other. So why not speak with your immediate neighbours and try to put your road and Charlton on the map!
It is for a good cause and if you think you can help please contact Tim Barnes.
If you would like to speak to him or get in touch before committing you can email him at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone him on 0208 858 1185.
Thank you very much to all who attended the Horn Fair on Saturday 13th October, it was lovely to see so many of you. Thank you for your support
