Talks Programme 2026

The Charlton Society usually holds talks on matters of local interest, normally on the third Saturday of every month, usually in St. Luke’s Church from 2.30pm. The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday 20 June 2026 at 2.30pm , when Alan Burkitt-Gray will talk about ‘How Charlton helped connect the world’!

The talks start with a local update and are followed by refreshments – please join us!

January’s meeting focussed on Charlton and the Draft Greenwich Local Plan – having your say on shaping our future. The Draft Local Plan by Greenwich Council can be seen here key issues are around Design and Heritage, Environment and Climate Change, Housing including height and density and Transport.

– 19 September 2026: The everyday heroes of Postman’s Park with Dr. John Price

– 24 October 2026: Charlton Society AGM and Heather Anderson on ‘Women, Football and SE7’

– 21 November 2026: Travels with my Turtle: Slow travel challenges from SE7 with Jo Kibble
