Malcolm Barr-Hamilton “Originally from Hove, I moved to South-east London in 1977 when I got a job in the Manuscripts Section of the National Maritime Museum, living in Greenwich, Charlton (Charlton Church Lane) and New Cross.
In 1985 I became Archivist for the London Borough of Bexley working at Hall Place and moved to North Cray in Sidcup where I have lived ever since. In 1995 I became Archivist for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets where I still work part-time, though I will be retiring early next year. I also have a part-time job as Archivist for the English Folk Song and Dance Society.
My Talk (Images of the East End: the photographic collections at Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archives) will examine the collection of some 40,000+ photos, how it was brought together and its scope and content, with very many illustrative examples.
