CHARLTON NEIGHBOURHOOD FORUM AGM – Saturday 25th November
The Charlton Neighbourhood Forum will be hosting its AGM on Saturday 25th November at Charlton House in the Old Library, 11.00am-1.00pm. All residents of the designated area are welcome to become members. Several members of The Charlton Society Committee are also involved in the CNF. The meeting will be appointing the Forum Committee and Officers and outlining the Forum’s aims and objectives. CNF recently published the Autumn 2023 Newsletter, which was circulated directly to households and businesses in SE7 within the Forum’s designation area. For further information, please click here.
GREENWICH HISTORICAL SOCIETY – Wednesday 22nd November
The Greenwich Historical Society is hosting a meeting to discuss the future of the Greenwich Heritage Centre and the future of the archive which are currently still residing in Anchorage Point with very little access possible by the public. The meeting is to be held at the Greenwich Tavern, Park Row, SE10 9NW. For non-members of the Greenwich Historical Society, there is an entry fee of £3. For further information, please click here. A petition has also been set up by local historian and chair of the Greenwich Industrial Historical Society, Mary Mills. The petition is asking RBG to restore a properly functioning archive and museum service. For further information, please click here. Mary is also to speak at the next Charlton Society Talks meeting in December (16th) and would welcome any questions on the Greenwich Heritage Centre.

The Charlton Society invites you to a night at the cinema to see acclaimed director Ken Loach’s new film The Old Oak and also an opportunity for an informal discussion on the future of The White Swan.


Charlton (London) Neighbourhood Forum – workshop
The newly designated Charlton (London) Neighbourhood Forum, in which several members of The Charlton Society Committee are actively involved, is hosting its first workshop. It is on Saturday 14th October at St Richard’s Centre on Swallowfield Road from 11.00am and open to all who live, work, run a business or study in Charlton. The discussion is Green Spaces & the Natural Environment.
